I’m finally back home after having time for work and pleasure in the wonderful Northern Territory.

I’m looking forward to celebrating my birthday this week…..it’s not a special birthday in the traditional sense, but I’m turning the age of the last two digits of the year I was born in, so it feels very special to me.

I’ve also been reflecting on my current blog, and how it’s going. Given that I have a multitude of interests, I’ve decided to experiment for a while and try a few regular features. These may include links to someone else’s blog, photos of books I’ve bought or am reading, a recommendation of a cultural activity, conference or festival, and something or someone that has inspired me.

I’d love to read any comments you may have about the changed format.

Blog of the Week:

If You Just Keep Writing, Will You Just Get Better?

 Illness Experience: Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

A great firsthand article about what it’s like to have chronic fatigue syndrome: relevant for people who have it as well as their families and friends.

If you have a comment, please pass it on to me.

Cold recipe to try when you feel a cold coming on:

Juice of 1 lemon

a few slices of ginger

1 tsp of honey

1 crushed garlic clove

Add boiling water in a cup, then let it steam for a few minutes.

You may have garlic breath, but the bugs don’t like it either!

Fun Activity for families:

Here’s a fun holiday activity we did with our grandchildren: my husband put up his tent inside. We all squeezed in and snuggled up together. The grandchildren loved it.

A tribute to Elie Wiesel (30/9/1928 – 2/7/2016): Nobel Peace Prize winner, Holocaust survivor, author and staunch campaigner for human rights. Rest in peace.

An aleph I coloured in. (The aleph is a Hebrew letter, and the picture I coloured in was designed by Nikki Green). The workshop I attended was run by Scribal art’s Nikki Green at Limmud Oz, a festival of Jewish learning.

One of the books I brought back from the Northern Territory. Can’t wait to read it.
